Skyla Monroe

Skyla is a senior drama major at Frank Sinatra School of the Arts in New York. Skyla uses theater and spoken word to express topics ranging from political frustration to cultural celebration in various events such as rallies with electeds, cultural showcases, and short films. When not on stage, she is a leading member of her school’s Black Student Union and works with staff to develop engaging Black History curricula and youth community organizations committed to combating domestic violence and abuse. She is passionate about studying the political connections to her community service and enjoys having her opinions challenged and questioned. Skyla is looking forward to learning from the perspectives of prospective guests, as well as members of the podcast team. Her favorite podcasts include Philosophize this, Stoic Coffee Break, Running from COPS, and the NPR Politics Podcast.
