Social Cinema Club

This program has ended but we encourage you to view the list of films we covered, as they are all thought-compelling and ripe for deep discussion around politics, government, and civil rights. Enjoy!

Films viewed and discussed together:

How the Social Cinema Club functioned:

Just because we’re socially distanced doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy watching civically-minded cinema together--it's just on Zoom now. We bet there are a ton of films you’ve always wanted to see and haven’t had time or energy for. Well, now’s the time. And it’s ALWAYS more interesting to watch films like this together so we can discuss the issues and ideas raised and the implications they have for building better civil society.

Each film will be crowdsourced and chosen by YOU. We'll show the film through Zoom so you can watch it for free if it's not publicly available.

Note: effective June 2021, we switched from a weekly to a monthly Club—yay for vaccines!

Here's what to do

1) Look through the current nominees here and let us know your top choices

2) On the third Thurs of the month at 6PM, we'll announce the winner and details about that Saturday night's showing via email and social media

3) Tune in via https://zoom.us/s/7569852746 (password: VOTE) on the third Sat of the month (the next showing is Sat, Sept 18) at 8PM ET to watch the week's chosen film followed by discussion

Also, please peruse our running list of films here and add any films not on there that you think should be.
